At one of the two 5000 meter passes we crossed this summer in Ladakh

Family doings this past year:

• We went to Kenya in February for gameviewing at Masai Mara, and Vance climbed Mt. Kenya.
• As you see from the picture, taken on an 8 day trek in the Indian Himalayas, our family was able to travel together this past summer. Glenn made a web archive of the experience here (lots of pics). Glenn and Bobbi had to get back to school but Dusty and I continued traveling in Rajastan. Jaipur was particularly interesting.
• The diving has been good this past year, especially off the coast of Oman, and Vance just returned from Hurghada (in Egypt, clear water and pretty fish, but not as good as Sharm El Sheikh). Check out Vance's log book here.
• Vance has been hard at work, either at the MLI or traveling to present at conferences, and putting together publications, which you can link to from here.
• Dusty made the National Honor Society in his senior year at ACS (American Community School, where Bobbi teaches at the kindergarten.

For Christmas we're doing something unusual the year. Glenn was not able to pull away from work in California and join us, so the rest of us are flying to Bangkok Christmas day and traveling to neighboring countries, probably Laos. Bobbi and Dusty need to return to school after a week, but Vance plans to continue north into China and maybe come back through Viet Nam. One possibiility is to meet up with one of my Webheads colleagues, Yaodong, in Guilin. We'll have to see how it goes.
